Used DJ Equipment including Mixing decks, Speakers and Vinyl now available!
A quality mobile DJ will have a range of Disco Equipment with them that can be put to good use at various types of party venues. Mobile DJs in particular make it their business to have the best Disco Equipment they can afford because they like to put a quality show on for their clients. If you are thinking of upgrading your Disco Equipment in the near future because your old equipment has worn out, there are wonderful types of equipment available and they come in great kinds of packages. You might want a great mixing deck that can combine a host of vinyls, cds and mp3s. If so, you`ll be able to mix it up with the best Djs in the country when you opt for top quality items of Disco Equipment. Packages can be bought that come with comprehensive items of Disco Equipment and you can add other items to these packages too. It`s not just about the sound at discos, it`s about the look and with disco lights and smoke machines you can really inject an awesome vibe. Mobiles DJs can work wonders at various venues if they have quality items of Disco Equipment to get the party vibe sizzling with.
Many Mobile Discos have made the change from a conventional CD or Vinyl based system to a software based one, usually running on either a full sized pc or a laptop. How both systems work are very similar, and so you shouldn't simply be taken in by reading other DJs' horror stories about how their laptop blew up during the first dance at a Wedding or how their full sized PC's power supply blew up halfway through a gig. There are pros and cons of using both systems, but largely whether to use a full size pc or a laptop comes down to personal preference, practicality, budget and space, and you'll often find that DJ's criticising the opposite machine, have never actually used the system that they are criticising! If possible, visit a DJ who is already using a system that you intend to use yourself. Nothing can sell an idea better than actually seeing it in use! Furthermore, I have watched Mobile DJs use both PCs and Laptops to DJ from, and neither, in my opinion, was more reliable or better than the other, so it should only be personal preference, rather than rumour or scaremongering which makes the decision on that score!
If you have ever encountered the windows blue screen of death, or worn out the Ctrl+alt+del keys on their keyboard you will possibly dread the thought of using such a system as a platform to their DJ'ing!. In essence, a decent dedicated pc or laptop with a clean install, reliable hard drive and a reasonable amount of memory will out perform most typical home pc set ups which may be running several applications at a time, be infiltrated with virus or spyware traces, and have a hard drive and registry in dire need of a good clean up and de-frag.
The fact is you can't beat hiring a DJ with a flawless reputation and a lot of experience for a VIP event. Beware though because anyone can go out and buy some cheap DJ equipment and next week they're a DJ and many clients wouldn't know what they were booking unless they really did their research so booking a cheap DJ could be a fatal error.
Despite that, when you are trying to watch the pennies you don't have to risk booking a cowboy DJ. You can do it yourself with the right equipment and if you hire the whole shebang from a professional company you should be able to bring together the best mix of easy to use sound and lighting equipment.
The different types of Djs are radio, club/bar and mobile DJs, and even KJs (Karaoke Jockeys). Mobile DJs (disc jockeys) means that DJs will bring their own set-up and music at the place of your event. They do weddings, banquets, dances, parties. NEVER ASSUME what the DJ should already know. It's your event and it is up to you to describe your requirements clearly to the DJ - the DJ can only guess until you give a confirmed and detailed description of what you are looking for. You need to give your DJ as much information as possible.
You've got a lot on your plate on that special day. The last thing you want is for the speaker system to let you down. Reliable speaker systems, outdoor power and distribution as well as DJ and band equipment is just a click away.
You've only got once chance at getting things right at a one off gig. Make sure your guests will remember the gig for the amazing bits not the disastrous bits.
